Technologies for decoding the neural basis of motivated behaviors

Exciting news: The lab is moving to Princeton University in January 2025. We will be joint between the Princeton Neuroscience Institute and the Omenn-Darling Bioengineering Institute.

The Kim Lab at UC Davis develops molecular and optical approaches to study the function and molecular organization of neurons in the brain.

Our research employs synthetic biology, in vivo 2-p imaging and stimulation, and in-depth molecular characterization to deconstruct the neural building blocks required to regulate motivated behavior in mice.
